Northedge: 25 jaar de kracht van kwetsbaarheid

Op 1 december 1995 werd ik wakker zonder vangnet. Ik had een mooie baan bij Stichting de Baak, maar het voelde als een gouden kooi. Ik wilde mijn eigen verhaal vertellen. Een verhaal over de overheid en een betere kwaliteit. Dat moest beter, anders. De overheid was en is geen bedrijf, doe het dus anders, maar accepteer niet dat de kwaliteit zo laag blijft!

Dat was het begin. In m’n uppie, met al mijn relaties als deelnemers in het mandje van een auditorsopleiding: het had zomaar mis kunnen gaan. Maar het ging niet mis. Het ging groeien en groeien. Voor je het weet heb je een btw-nummer nodig en een rechtspersoon. Voor je het weet heb je personeel.

Ik kan niet anders zeggen, dan dat ik gezegend ben geweest met fijne klanten, collega’s, partners, adviseurs en medewerkers (Marc Muntinga!). Ook al draait veel om de ene persoon van de ondernemer, die ene persoon is niets zonder het netwerk om hem heen, zeker in mijn geval.

Dank aan allen die in enige rol hebben bijgedragen en dat nog doen. Het verhaal is nog zeker niet af. De komende dagen zal ik op verschillende sociale media van me doen horen. Op LinkedIn laat ik initiatieven zien waar ik nu bij betrokken ben, waaronder natuurlijk het Nationaal Verenigingsonderzoek. Op Facebook laat ik me vooral als dichter zien, met rond kerst en nieuwjaar elke dag een passend gedicht. Op twitter komt de politicus weer langs. En in Gouda, op het kantoor, in de bibliotheek, wachten stoelen op een gast om hopelijk snel weer eens koffie te drinken.

Northedge 25 jaar? Het schijnt zo. Ongelofelijk.
